Hygroscopic crystal resources deteriorate when they're not always held in sufficiently dry air (or maybe a dry purge gasoline). This is applicable e.g. to KDP and BBO, and in a lesser extent to LBO. It could be useful to maintain such a crystal in a somewhat elevated temperature, that makes it simpler to maintain it dry.Inertness to Moisture: BIBO
